Latest News….. 2024 Festival a great success

Our 76th Festival saw over two thousand pairs of feet take to the stage over eleven days of competition at  The Princess Theatre, Burnham-on-Sea, and Highbridge Community Hall.  We were pleased to welcome pupils from six local schools who took part in Choral Speaking and Set Verse classes in Speech & Drama and school choirs and instrumentalists  who sang and played for us during the Music Section. Dancers from across the south-west joined us to perform solos, duets, trios, quartets and group dances, delighting the audiences with a wide variety of styles of dance, from classical ballet to street dance and even flamenco. Our adjudicators, Eleanor McLeod, Jackie Hutt and Roy Robinson, gave very positive and encouraging feedback, which was appreciated by both the competitors and audience. All three adjudicators said how much they had enjoyed being part of the 76th Highbridge Festival of the Arts.

We would like to thank all competitors for their continued support of our festival, the adjudicators for their hard work and valued feedback, the management of the venues for allowing us to take over their spaces and the many volunteers who helped to organise and steward this year’s festival.

We are also very grateful to Hinkley Point C Community Fund for their grant towards our venue costs for this year, which allowed us to keep entry fees and admission charges as low as they were and will help us to continue to host our ‘friendly’ festival next year.

Our 77th Festival will run between 10 and 22 March 2025

Dates for 2025 are:

Monday 10 March & Tuesday 11 March 2025
