National Summit on Hydraulic Fracturing 2024 - industry platform on oil production

The National Hydraulic Fracturing Summit is being held for the second consecutive year and has already become a popular venue for the development and improvement of technologies, sharing experience and state-of-the-art solutions. The demand for such a large-scale industry discussion is clearly visible in the industry and is driven by its needs and realities. Today hydrofracturing is one of the most effective tools for hydrocarbon production stimulation and the main method for the so-called hard-to-recover reserves extraction. Experts estimate that by 2030, hydrofracturing will account for 70 % of all oil produced in Russia.

Last year's summit attracted 100+ participants from 16 regions. Over two days, 126 technical papers were presented. In 2024, the organisers expect no less number of specialists from service companies, research institutions and production enterprises, as well as major production companies such as Gazprom Neft, LUKOIL, NOVATEK, Rosneft, Surgutneftegaz, Tatneft, Zarubezhneft, Irkutsk Oil Company and others.

One of the Summit's advantages is its venue - the territory of NOVATEK NTC's laboratory and research centre equipped with unique facilities that have no analogues in Russia. The summit programme includes a technological tour of the site, which will be of interest to professionals.

What is ont he program??

A plenary session with the participation of oil companies and government officials will be held as part of the National Hydraulic Fracturing Summit. The first findings of industrial tests of the domestic hydraulic fracturing fleet are to be presented at the Summit. Developers will tell how the fracturing complex is being tested at one of the fields in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, and the equipment built by Russian enterprises for efficient hydrocarbon production will be presented in the exhibition area of the event.

The programme will also feature the Technology Day of the Institute of Oil and Gas Technology Initiatives on well completion. Adding a track on well completion to the fracturing theme is driven by the logic of oil production: these are related topics, which, along with drilling, experts call the cornerstones of production.

The second day of the Summit will feature all the key events on the medium-term planning of the sector. These include the plenary session ‘Hydraulic Fracturing: From Challenges to Effective Solutions’ with participation of major oil and gas companies' executives and officials from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, closed sessions of PAO Gazprom Neft and NOVATEK in the form of the Supplier Day, and a meeting of the expert group for the Onshore Drilling Roadmap implementation.

Top managers of the participating companies, representatives of the federal and regional government will be present on site this day.

The third day will be the most hands-on. It will include a dialogue on hydraulic fracturing with case studies, discussion of the latest developments and trends.
