In 2021, LivingKitchen will open its doors again from January 18 to 24 in Koelnmesse, Germany and will bring together the most important national and international companies working in the kitchen industry.

But even with more than 20 months to go, one thing is already clear for Matthias Pollmann, Bernd Sanden and their team: LivingKitchen 2021 will bring together the most important national and international companies working in the kitchen industry, thereby becoming the most international kitchen event in Germany and the world.

“LivingKitchen must represent the whole spectrum of the industry once again. To achieve that, both we and the industry itself must work to lay the foundations. My hope is that the industry in Germany, by taking part, sends out a clear signal of support for the show, but at the same time it is also important that we do our homework. That means, first and foremost, that we must win over the companies conceptionally in the area of electrical appliances, and further boost the internationality of the trade fair in terms of visitors. We are working on both of those points,” says Matthias Pollmann, Vice President Trade Fair Management at Koelnmesse.

"With 52 % of trade visitors coming from abroad, the most recent edition of the fair achieved an even greater global reach than ever before. We can build on that. That’s why we believe in the format and are convinced that it still offers a huge range of opportunities to the companies exhibiting here. The most recent edition proved that it can deliver on all fronts, despite challenging conditions," adds Pollmann.

The work of ensuring that LivingKitchen 2021 is a success has begun. Registration forms have been sent out digitally, and companies can now, for the first time, register easily online. This is another step taken by Koelnmesse towards digitalising numerous services and simplifying the process of preparing for the trade fair. Further innovations will be implemented in time for LivingKitchen 2021.

The kitchen is far more than just a room to cook in — it is the reflection of the society, which allows plenty to be learnt about the forms of living together and beyond this it is also a future laboratory for a wide range of developments. That is why the event character of LivingKitchen is to be further developed in 2021. Building on the conceptional ideas from this year, special areas on topics such as “Design” and “Food Styles” are being planned once again. The themes will be tailored to the needs of the exhibiting companies and visitors.

"Based on several kitchen presentations we will portray the entire diversity of the industry again — and make the furniture, functions, technologies and networking of tomorrow experienceable," says Bernd Sanden, Director of LivingKitchen. "LivingKitchen may primarily be a business platform and stage for product innovations, but also increasingly evolves towards a forum for discussion of the question of the future of the kitchen — and everything connected to it," Sanden outlines the development of the event.
