Messe Frankfurt to Bring Automotive Industry Leaders Together at Automechanika Shanghai 2026: Key Industry Trends

Messe Frankfurt to Bring Automotive Industry Leaders Together at Automechanika Shanghai 2026: Key Industry Trends

The automotive industry is gradually moving from developing individual components towards building integrated technology ecosystems. Electrification, artificial intelligence, digitalisation and software solutions are changing not only vehicle design but also the requirements placed on suppliers, service providers and the entire supply chain.

This trend is particularly evident in China, where manufacturers are developing the domestic market while expanding their international presence. Automechanika Shanghai 2026, taking place on December 2–5 in Shanghai, will provide a platform to explore these changes through finished products and business connections.

The Electric Vehicle Ecosystem and Commercial Vehicles

The development of electric vehicle technologies remains a key focus. The exhibition will feature:

  • electric powertrains;
  • thermal management systems;
  • charging infrastructure;
  • intelligent chassis and automated driving solutions.

Electrification extends beyond passenger cars: commercial vehicles are also adopting new powertrain technologies, creating demand for specialised components, diagnostic tools and servicing equipment.

Automechanika Shanghai will also feature electronics, digital solutions, tyres and wheels, and equipment for vehicle repair and maintenance.

The AI Era: Automotive+

Meanwhile, vehicles are becoming increasingly integrated with software and artificial intelligence. In 2026, Automechanika Shanghai will introduce Automotive+, a new focus area bringing automotive technologies together with AI, robotics, hardware and software solutions, and new energy technologies. Innovation4Mobility will serve as its central platform. For manufacturers and suppliers, this reflects changing industry requirements: alongside physical components, digital technologies that can be integrated into new vehicle platforms are becoming increasingly important.

Business Programme: From Industry Insights to Direct Negotiations

The Automechanika Shanghai 2026 business programme will provide a dedicated opportunity to explore the market and find partners. Around 100 conferences, forums and seminars are expected.
