NMF EXPO 2026: machine tools, robotics, and AI — what will be shown at the metalworking exhibition in Moscow

NMF EXPO 2026: machine tools, robotics, and AI — what will be shown at the metalworking exhibition in Moscow

Machine tools, robotic systems, and artificial intelligence are becoming part of a unified production chain. NMF EXPO 2026—an international metalworking exhibition taking place from October 6 to 9 at Moscow’s Crocus Expo—will focus on the convergence of these technologies. This year, the event will showcase over 300 pieces of equipment, and the business program features more than 60 speakers..

NMF EXPO 2026: from machine tools to industrial AI

One of the exhibition's central themes is the transition of enterprises toward more automated production processes. The showcase will feature metal-cutting, laser, and finishing equipment, machine tooling, inspection and measurement systems, heat treatment solutions, additive technologies, industrial 3D printing, robotics, and software.

Practical solutions are already being presented by NMF EXPO 2026 participants. For instance, NPP Gran will showcase the GRAMAT-Z zero-point positioning system and Gramat manual manipulators. These solutions are designed to reduce CNC machine changeover times and prepare production areas for robotization. According to the company, using the system in suitable manufacturing processes can cut downtime by 70–80%.

Robotization and digitalization of production in the business program

The business program for NMF EXPO 2026 focuses on practical issues regarding the development of the machine-tool industry. Key topics include technological sovereignty, robotization, the component base, cross-industry cooperation, digitalization, and workforce development for manufacturing.

October 6 will feature a strategic day titled "The Path from Sales and Service to Manufacturing." The program includes a discussion on Russian machine tools and tooling, a plenary session on "Metalworking 2030: Robotization, Productivity, and Technological Independence," and a discussion on support measures and the localization of Russian robotic systems.

Special attention will be paid to artificial intelligence. On October 8, participants will discuss digital metalworking, the application of AI in manufacturing, ERP systems, and the use of digital tools for calculating commercial proposals.

New solutions for metalworking and industry

Another notable trend at NMF EXPO 2026 is the search for practical solutions to modernize production. Confirmed exhibitors include manufacturers of equipment, tools, and components, as well as software developers, engineering firms, and representatives from the scientific and educational communities.

The exhibition will also run concurrently with Weldex, allowing specialists to explore equipment and technologies covering multiple stages of the production cycle during a single visit.
